2nd ANNUAL BATON ROUGE CIVIL WAR SYMPOSIUM
Civil War Life: Sex, Lies, and Tintypes
April 27/28/29, 2018

Picture
  • How did the L.S.U. Fighting Tigers get their name?
  • Why did more Confederate than Union amputees survive the war?
  • How did a former C.S.A. General, missing an arm and leg, have eleven children in ten years?
Imagine taking a journey back in time when the United States were just united states,  doctors used poultices, and leeches, brothels thrived, and roving bands of outlaws were a constant threat to civility.
We'll take you into the world of the terrifying Tigers as they torment and offend citizens. Learn how  Louisiana's Tiger troops, from the New Orleans docks, strike terror into the hearts of US and CSA soldiers.

Our speakers will take you on a journey back in time as they impart new insights and knowledge you will surely want to share with friends.
As you browse through the vendor's wares, and peruse the  interactive displays and artifacts you wll get a sense of what life was like.
